Data center tiers are specific kind of data center infrastructure. There is 4 different data center tiers, and every tier has their structure to build like tier 1 is the simplest infrastructure, while tier 4 is the complex with most redundant components. Each tier needs specific component to build.
A Tier 1 data center has a single power path, cooling and few redundant components.
A Tier 2 data center has a single power path, cooling , some redundant component and power backup.
A Tier 3 data center has multiple power path, cooling and majority of redundant component and power backup to keep update and maintain it without getting it offline.
A Tier 4 data center can handle fault-tolerance and redundancy for every individual component.
